About the Artist

Harmony Jones is a nature-based mixed media/assemblage artist, incorporating repurposed and found objects. Born in 1977, in Eugene, Oregon and named after an Elton John song, Harmony’s parents worked in the marine industry so she spent a lot of time outdoors surrounded by water. Losing her father tragically at age ten, set a difficult spin on her life. However healing was her creative outlet, which became her passion and then developed into her career.
Harmony attended the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon and started showing her work professionally in 2003. Starting with local group exhibitions, art walks and many art festivals, she moved to South Florida in 2005. While focusing on her studio practice, Harmony has participated in multiple group shows across the United States. She was interviewed by NPR for her participation in Art Fort Lauderdale two years in a row. Showing her work in Wynwood Miami, Art Boca, Art Basel’s Spectrum, Red Dot and Aqua Miami.
Harmony’s large body of work is greatly inspired by nature and the elements. She earned a county grant for a sea level rise community engagement project and has collaborated on projects with companies such as Urban Outfitters and The Body Shop. Harmony has completed large commissions for the Palm Beach County School District and the Boys and Girls Club fundraising department. Harmony was also an Artist in Residence at the Fort Lauderdale History Museum. Harmony currently lives a bi-coastal lifestyle participating in shows here in South Florida as well as her originating Pacific North West region.
